Martin Roberts (age 48) is the current presenter of the BBC1 series, Homes Under the Hammer with co-presenter Lucy Alexander. Born in Warrington, Cheshire, Roberts has also presented several other programmes including Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is and How to Survive the Property Crisis, both for the BBC as well as ITV's travel programme Wish You Were Here...?.
He has been working as a property developer since the early 1990s and he now owns a specialist investment property company. Roberts also edits the travel section of Woman magazine as well as contributing to several other publications either on the subject of property development or travel.[1]
He studied Electronic Engineering at Bradford University 1982–86 and was a DJ on Ramair, the university's radio station.
In July 2010, Roberts entered the BBC television programme Celebrity MasterChef, though he was eliminated at the first opportunity having performed well on the ingredient recognition task.
Roberts was brought up in Warrington.[2]
He lives in Paulton near Bath with his wife, Kirsty (whom he met on a charity climb of Kilimanjaro), and their young son and daughter. The couple also have a holiday home in south Devon.[2]
